Is there some program I can use to simply stack 160 256x256 images on top of each other in numerical order?
Since Paint.Net has a bug where the selection box ends up off-set in really huge pictures and it won't zoom in all the way... >:( (256x40960 :o )

BTW- I found a program called "photofit" but for large playerships it's too limited (max area is 350000k pixels)

Also, another possibility is ArcSoft panorama maker. It's limited to doing 120 images, enough for most purposes. Hmm... it doesn't work the way we need it to... It does make good panoramas from photographs though...

mmmhh, Paint Shop Pro 9 stops at 32767x32767.

[EDIT]
 I don't believe it! MSPaint successfully created a blank 256x40960 Jpeg image !
And Paint Shop Pro 9 can open it correctly.

but can paint shot pro 9 save it?
GIMP sorta works- it'll save it and all, but it's a REALLY SLOW PROCESS! D:

you can try the gimp, it's grid feature will even make sure they are perfectly stacked. i am unaware of any limits.

EDIT: it will let me make a 256 by 40960 image, but it will use 80mb!?! probably less on the final image though

If your paint programs are having a difficult time with this size of a file, how do you think it will perform in-game?

Actually, it's a bug with the way the selection overlay image works- since it's actually 1/100th pixel shorter, the selection overlay will always be off (usually the difference is imperceptible, but on something 40960 pixels high... :P)

Unfortunately transcendence doesn't want to do anything with over 40 facings D:

Whatever. I just hope it's eventually supported (over 40 facings)

i got a 800 x 32000 picture to work just fine. the image doesn't lag in transcendence. i dunno if that helps any. making the mask for it in PSP took FOREVER and i almost thought my computer would freeze..

Oh previously I posted a list of all accepted facings-
(rotation degrees per frame CANNOT EVER be a decimal- otherwise transcendence gets messed up)
so 360 is the max number of facings(80 doesn't work- it's 4.5. 160 is 2.25)

40 doesn't work-
That's strange. I get 9 when I divide 40 into 360, and I am pretty sure 40 works for some reason.

can you please check how much ram is transcendence using with such a massive image ? (it's 75Mb uncompressed)
I know that it's cropped by the mask and so the game shouldn't use an additional 75MB of ram, but I'm still puzzled. :)
