I seem to recall asking about what the variant value in the topology nodes is for and being told that it didn't do anything-
So why is it used in FillLocations is 098d?
Did that work for 098d like it does in 099c?
Because now I have discovered that you can use the variant attribute of a system in the topology node to choose FillLocations in a system, and I think it works for <RandomLocation as well.
I took a standard system that used FillLocations and created a <Variants> table for more than 1 fill location element- which one got used was based on the topology attribute for the system.
My test used simply the regular fill and an empty one. In a node with the variant "empty", the system was empty. In a node with the variant "commonwealth" the stations got filled in as usual.
I also tried it for the RandomLocation that places a primary station for a system- this seems to be working with the variants as well, although I might be wrong about this part because I didn't test it out much.
Has this always worked George?
