I just tried to create a system where the planets actively move around the sun, with stations moving around them. I got an extremely comical result. Many green dots began swarming out and around the sun. Every few ticks a mass of planets and asteroids appeared on the sun. I tried converting the planets to ships, using shipClass tags, and ship tags. Is the idea of moving planets at all possible?

I guess that makes sense. I really don't get why it created several dozen green dots though. It may be that I gave it the same images it had and told it there were 360 rotations, hoping it would be able to turn in every degree.

It'd be great if this ends up working, as static planets really bugged me in Transcendence. They just sit there.... >.>
This, however, raises questions as to whether stations should move with planets, or whether we assume stations have anti-orbital controls or simply fire engines to stay in the one spot (like the real Space Station).

In my design I had I tried to get a station to orbit as well. I didn't actually see it though, not even on the map.

What? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.ThePrivateer wrote:assume stations have anti-orbital controls or simply fire engines to stay in the one spot (like the real Space Station).
1) that would take ridiculous amounts of power
2) why would you want to be away from the planet
3) what real space station? All of them are in orbit. I fail to see what you are talking about.
