I've been using Transcendence 1.04 and this is a new issue that I haven't seen yet.
Whenever I try to use the Galactic Map mod, I try to view the Galactic Map at the beginning of the game. When I try, it doesn't actually display a galactic map, or anything else for that matter-it just jumps to the ship selection process. Then, once I have selected a ship, Windows announces that there has been an error that has caused the program to shut down.
Any ideas?

Hm, Galactic Map is my mod...there shouldn't be any troubles. Just to make sure - when you are in a system, press [M] and then [G].
Make sure you don't have any other map-styled thing that could be conflicting (eg, possibly Stellar Cartography), and make sure you really are on 1.04 (I know it sounds stupid, but).
Anything in your debug log?
the GMAP should run fine -- it may look a little odd due to positioning of elements and the size of the map etc, but it should work fine. Remember you can use [+] and [-] keys to zoom in and out as well if you can get it up and running.
Any other info you can provide will be helpful.
