Metaseq is 3DCG modelling program that doesn't have quite as steep of a learning curve as many other modeling programs. I've been keeping an eye on it for years because it has an export function to the DoGA L3 "Add Parts" menu system.
The freeware version lets you do everything, but exporting to other common 3D model file formats is crippled (last I checked anyways). An easy work-around is to export your model to the DoGA L3 menu and then use DoGA to export it to other formats instead.
