I converted all thr available models to OBJ by exporting them using truespace.
However some will export with glitches, everything that is a thorus will have the hole closed with additional surfaces.

So, after that i use wings3d to fix the model, then import it in some other software to reapply the textures. (I use bryce, which i dont reccomend, use blender)

I can provide a zip file with the raw OBJs

You can save as a collada export file (.dae) using Truespace, and import it directly to your Blender scene through "File > Import > Collada". You'll have to play with the settings a bit if the model isn't cooperating, but this will usually work.

The textures will map out fine in the Blender internal engine, but if you're using Cycles you'll have to spend some time adjusting things manually.

Thanks! But I already got TransArt 101 and want to live through all the trouble xD! Any other method? That doesn't involve download TrueSpace?

I'm still looking forward to your Blender sessions, and I lost your scene setup. Can you send it to me again?

Rotation rig

I'm open to doing more Blender sessions sometime, just bump the thread and we'll coordinate a time.

i'm happy to share them, but they need lots of fixes to work properly

BTW, @Xephyr, I never managed to import in Blender a collada exported from truespace.

It works for about 50% of the models, for me.

Thats how truespace exports the models

[EDIT]
Actually, this little thread made me want to fire up truespace and try a few google searches to see how other people import/exports in OBJ format.

Turns out that the OBJ exports command of truespace is really botched and people us the free plugin that comes truespace called LUUV.
I just did a test with a centurion. The plugin does an automatic triangulation before exporting to fix holes. AND exports with textures properly.
This is the little tutorial I used to install and export (ALT+click button) a centurion model.
http://www.spacekdet.com/tutorials/loadLUUV/
So, I might re-export everything in the next few days.

there you go !
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/720 ... meshes.rar
(caution, it's 90MB !)

Some scn files are crashing Truespace when i try to export them, so it's not really all the meshes there, but most of them.
