First post, and it's a necro!
(mini intro: I'm a 3D Artist specialising in zBrush and 3D Studio Max and I just discovered Kronosaur earlier this week, so I'm here to lend my services)
any chance of a working link to the assets?

EDIT: Not sure what happened to TransArt101.zip. I'll try to dig it up, but I don't think there were big changes.

Hi Jay2Jay,
indeed, I had major troubles converting from scn to 3ds or obj, too.
In particular, it seems that during the conversion the meshes will loose textures (most of them) and some of the poly containing holes will lose them. (example: reactor meshes will lose the hole showing the yellow light)
I resorted by re-creating the parts that were damaged by the conversion. Some of them, unfortunately, are beyond my 3D modeling capabilities.
For the textures, I keep Truespace open at the same time, and check the textures and use the same ones. Adjusting for specularity/bump/etc. takes a long time as I render and re-render the model until it's indistinguishable from George's. This is not easy as I don't know which models have been post-processed in Photoshop.
