Seeing as we are starting to get more activity in regards to official mods, especially with the Official Transcendence Patch (OTP?), I was wondering if we should (at least pre-emptively) get a board up and running for official mods, with any necessary sub-forums for any big projects that have multiple people, or are in public beta/release stages and thus would allow for people to report bugs, etc.

Isn't that jumping the gun a bit? I mean, we don't even /have/ and official patch yet... i suppose it could survive with a thread in the community forums for discussion and a link on xelerus, no? Less to maintain that way.

Actually, given that the OTP's will need community input, especially B-OTP (B being Beta, and S being Stable, for the respective versions of trancendence) (wheras S-OTP can also rely on the tracker & B-OTP), trying to constrain it to a single thread is more liable to make a mess than anything else

I vote for a sub forum within Transcendence mods.

Ttech, I think that you are confused - that was a different discussion (completed mods forum vs. shipyards for WIP & getting help). >.>

On that train of thought, I would like to see the Shipyard broken up into categories, like this:Ttech wrote:Partially I did get confused, however having a Completed mod thread would work for official mods as well too. They would be all similar.
[Shipyard]
{Completed Mods}
{WIP Mods}
{Official Mods}
{Help}
When WIP mods are finished, they could be moved to Completed section. Help is just for people initially struggling with a concept.

I wouldn't break up the Shipyards into WIP and Help -- thats the idea of a shipyard - to develop. However completed and offical can be moved I think without disturbing the zen.

True enough. That would only be three sections then, which is managable.Ttech wrote:ThePrivateer wrote:On that train of thought, I would like to see the Shipyard broken up into categories, like this:Ttech wrote:Partially I did get confused, however having a Completed mod thread would work for official mods as well too.
