Fixed the issue with the avatars; phpbb3 had them disabled by default

Which is why I suggested higher level captcha and Akismet and moderation queue.
It will work, but there's so many users registered already I don't know if any support removal like that.

Well I merged all the same type of topics, it seemed easier this way, also I missed the reduction in users registered. Also Akismet should help spam detection.
