Has anyone else (other than me and the pygmy elephants wearing toupee's that make me login twice) noticed that it is posible to recieve a notification of a reply to a posting and then login and click postings since you last were here and then they dont list, this could be because were all in diferent time zones. [Im using GMT] this means that my posts are in the future for myself (or something like that). This whole double login in annoying to say the least, I login once and The page says that im online but I dont have any user privlages such as viewing my own posts (damn Pygmy Elephants) and the login is still there so I login again and then It's all normal (as only It can Be?)
Any Ideas?
Should I find the E-Mail for the PHPBB guys.

Well that answer is madeningly unhelpful.

Also as this is called "This Forum?" I thought I'd use it to bring up anything that I feel (or anyone else [dont want to hog the lime light]) that should be discused (read: winge winge winge){its good for the stress}.

The point of this post is are we goning to do any thing #special# when we get a 1000 regestered user?
(on my calculations it should be only a month away at the most)

(could be a limited edition plush toy for those of you out there still with plush toys)

When we get a 1000 registered members I am going to separate the 850 spam-bot names from the real member names and turn the bots into an enemy NPC mod we can summarily shoot at till the cows come home.

PHPBB doesn't really have some guys you can email, it's open source software developed by dozens++ of people over the years, and comes with a "please don't email us your personal server issues problems" agreement.

Here's an interesting fact- where I am sitting it's the 29th still. Checking the member list shows that 18 new members have joined on the 30th. By my calculations, 1000 registrations will have occurred by thursday (that's friday forum time). Of the 18 members who will have registered in my tomorrow, not a one of them is likely to have played transcendence yesterday (my today).

And, please, don't pander your plush toys in range of my TeV9 again. You have been warned. :P

The counter was at 3000+ registered spambots, before George cleaned up a few weeks ago.

However I also have some minor problems with the forum, like not being able to see correctly when someone replied after reading the first reply. (all the nice stars disappear) As a solution I adopted I simply read every last post in every section of the forum. :D

BTW I'm at GMT too.

So we all get to have potshots at the spam bots.
We could always have a system similar to the unofficial forum where you have to contack the real person to get regestered, for example my no spam adress is http://www.anonomi.com/7hiris try it no spam will ever come in and I'm sure we could all share out the task of distiguishing #real# people from the Bots (and pygmy elephants)

For those of you who don't like P#### toys how about a nice shiny omnidirictional fast fire dual TeV9.

At least that should keep those of you who *like* blowing up Iocrym command ships (I'm going to mod them so they apear in other systems just to make the game harder {hahaha}[Joking])

For the record:
Is there a reason why they are called TeV9's?
(I mean System26 and Nintendo64 have explinations [dont ask about a Wii])

The TeV9's could be the limited edition present for all #real# members when we reach 1000 #real# members.

Also (an another Tangent) is there a reason why the forums are monitored by "moderator's" and then George is the only one (I know I'm an english drop out [almost]) and this plural is unnessecary [And I can't spell], see George could always share the loadof moderating all of this around.

Also (on Another Tangent) {note to self Less of the caffine} how do stob being an Anarchist on the side of my posts. (can all you Milita men help with this one?)[Or is this the great secret that is kept for us Anarchists] I don't blow #all# in game objects up

As you can see on the left I am now nolonger an anarchist and now I am a Miner (this is a disgrace as I havent even seen the in game mined ore screen {but I Know it exists}) so does any one know why this changes and how it changes and when it changes (sorry lots of weird questions :? )

As ive already started to go of on a tangent I would like to do a quick opinion poll hoow many people have working Mod's and haven't posted them? and how many unposted mod's do you have?

Me, I have 4 working mods and 3 in progress that are unposted.

 On this computer (which isn't even mine) I have no idea. I make mods by the dozens. On my recently deceased computer (oh, I do so miss it!) I had a huge transcendence folder with 2 gb worth of versions of the game I was tinkering with.

But it's not about number of mods. It's about quality.

The ship graphics and forum rank are a reflection of your post count. Try to resist reviving dead posts and flooding the forum with pointless one liners to raise your rank.

How do we know when a post is dead?
I've posted to some unanswered posts and some inactive ones 'cause im kind of new arround here (this year) and the topics interested me.
Is this bad to do?

not bad, per se.

I generally figure that a new thread is better than reviving a thread over about 8 months since the last post in the thread.

Some threads are bound to return from the dead, of course.

I would say, again, quality is the measurement of acceptance. If you have something to actually add to the thread, go ahead and revive it. If you are only adding "What happened with this?" or "Cool idea!", it's not doing much to enliven the thread or expand the ideas, now is it?

In my opinion a thread is dead if nobody answered to it in 3-4 months.
There are exceptions of course, but this is what I consider "behaving politely" and what I normally do.

I agree. To me quality is new ideas and expanding the game in new directions.

For a quality mod then it needs a new direction or story line?

Ive got a
Mammoth 200MW (1200 Hp) and 250MW (1500 Hp),
and a 5GW reactor Mods that ive been meaning to release;
these in essence dont expand the game just create a more powerful player.
after your post on expanding the game in to new directions im only slightly lost as Ive been mainly concentraiting on the higher levels and Arcane Devices (Dark Fire, ...)

On the plus I am working on a Bounty Hunter Storyline Mod.
and I will up date my Sovereign Creation thread to represent my progress in this topic.

I think there needs to be more talk of the direction WE want to take Transcendence
