Well, I love the heliotrope harvester/cruiser idea, however I am not to fond of the actual graphic of it. It looks kind of square, and extremely ugly imho... As for the reactor idea thing, I love that; it would make more sense if you can loot reactors off every ship. Would the heliotrope reactor be extremely efficient due to the fuel it uses? Would it be able to use non heliotrope fuel; or would it be only able to use heliotrope fuel/solar power?

besides the shape (the smaller harvester are awesome, this one so so), please keep it powerful. It sounds like a nice challenge! :D

:lol: Yeah, I actually cut off must of it since it was too big... I'll redesign it later I guess... It IS pretty bland.

In redesigning it, I'll cut down the number of flare cannons to 2. That should help a lot in balancing it... I guess I can bump up the rate of fire? I don't know- I'll experiment but I'll try to keep it challenging enough.

BTW- I found that there was a major problem in the model anyways, so nomatter what I have to redo it... (the engines were on both sides! :lol: Not to mention there was a hole in it...)

The newer version looks way better then the original version in my opinion; however I am not too fond of the square shape of the "two?" "wings" it has... Maybe make them a tad rounded, or something? Other then the wings it looks great.

I already tried that- It looked even worse... I'm still coming up with ways to improve it, but this is what's currently being used.

I might tilt all the solar panels on the wings forwards maybe? I tried setting it up radially, but that looked weird too... :?

Try cutting up the wings into several segments and separating them a little from the main ship corridor. Then rotate the solar panels semi-randomly.

I like the look of the 'wings' but what I suggest is making the hull another colour. grey,black, something more metallic. With only one colour it's a bit bland but I like the overall design.

Antares VIII

The Antares VIII, a recent design in the last two decades (when compared to say, the Anatres I), was created as a robust freighter to serve in the conflicted territories, able to support massive armor segments (up to 50 tons!) while still being relatively fast at .12c (as fast as the Antares II). However, in order to achieve such massive amounts of thrust and to hold such heavy armor, the ship sacrifices much of it's cargo space, leaving it with a mere 4000 tons of space for cargo.
The player's version comes with 12 segments of quad titanium barricades, no shields, and an omni IR laser (think omni laser, but weaker) (not to mention a cargo hold full of water-ice or some other cheap commodity). The ship can have a maximum of two weapons (like the IE500), for a total of 7 devices (including weapons and the shield generator). I'll have some korolov shipping missions scripted for both this ship and the IE500 (who's cargo I bumped up to 300 tons- the EI100 has 250 tons... I might bump it up further to match the EI200 or bump the EI200's down).
The late-game NPC version comes with 24 segments of some really heavy armor and some decent shields (mammoth 50?). It will also have a pair of omni tev 9's or omni katanas? I'll decide on the weapons later...

Just looking at the nose of the heliotrope ship. That could probably use some complexity as well. Unless the nose mounts a gun, How about adisk-shaped (like star trek) or simply rounded nose?

Also, where are the sunflare cannons going to fire from?

I was going to try putting something like the heliotrope destroyer's front segment there.

The cannons fire from the small, round segments interspaced in the main hull.

Some changes to korolov-

The EI200 is now called the EI500

The IE500 is now called the IE200

Both 200 and 500 are escortable

The Antares VIII will appear very rarely, but cannot be escorted (for now).

Both the new EI200 and the Antares VIII have descriptions in the korolov database.
