When I dock at the station, I never tell them that I am a pilgrim. :D

I am talking small sums of money (if you are 500 kredit short of buying some good weapon).

And they're just going to give you a loan of any sort without a credit check?

Who do you think they are, citibank?

No, if I do not pay, they can sell my family as slaves. Or they can take my liver in advance. :D

Or they can take my passport as a collateral. Or it would be be necessary to dock at the station before you leave Commonwealth space.

Possibilities are endless ...

Well, slavery is illegal in the commonwealth, your liver isn't worth much in a society with medical technology as advanced as the Transcendence universe, and there's no way to enforce anything against someone with a ship Admiral Decker describes as "armed like a battleship".

True. Ok, back to the drawing board, then ...Oh, the station could hide a stargate using a cloaking device. And only they would have a code for decloaking. So, if you destroy them, you still could not pass ...

There are no other instances of cloaking technology in the Transcendence universe. If there were the Commonwealth would be using it to divide Ares space into easily conquered sections. That and the game would be unwinnable because the Iocrym would have vanished the Heretic gate instead of just pulling the control rod out.

That being said, it would be possible to relocate a stargate so far out of a system that it would for all practical purposes be 'hidden'. Of course, why the Iocrym didn't do that beats me... They have always worked in mysterious ways...

ships with metagenic/biological weapon

Sistem without gates - you would have to sell cargo and buy fuel, then breach the interstellar space to reach the next sistem with stargate

huge sun sistem with local stargates - when you go into one, you came out on the other side of the sistem

If gates could be moved they would be posiitoned conveniently close together in the commonwealth to facilitate trade. They aren't ergo they can't be.

One of the races should have a device, which enables you to make a wormhole.

Are you saying that humans cannot devise technology that the Iocrym has not already thought of? Or merely that when the Transcendence universe was manifested in release 0.99c all technological development stopped :P

When i mentioned that gates could be moved, I was merely looking at it from a scripting point of view. And script, as we all know, is a technology that even the mighty Iocrym must bow to. There is no gun bigger than the (objDestroy (objGetTarget gPlayerShip)) gun. (hmmm, except maybe the enumerating one... )

Some Ancients races possibly know how to use scripts to defend themselves against the player. :D

Fear the onDestroy event. Death curses are nasty.

Another possibility for loan: You can borrow from mafia (or bank, it is the same thing anyway) and in return they take your soul away (using Soul Extractor 2.0 - copyright of Mafia Inc.). You have 2 hours to repay them back. If you pay back loan + interest, all is OK. If you do not, you just die since soul is essential part of you. In this case mafia sells your soul to Brootherhood of Evil. They are sending souls to the evil god/entity named Void in his hell-like dimension, and he in return gives them money to pay the mafia since Void is unable to exist in our dimension (and he needs souls for his sinister purposes to eradicate all dimension except his own). :D
