Are beams (such as what the ICX uses) constant speed or relative speed? I ask because I am not sure how to aim a constant speed thing at a moving target.
Crying is not a proper retort!
I did a quick experiment and I think they are relative.
I installed an icx and spawned a ranx gunship, added an extra 1 on my ship's max speed and flew straight at the ranx at 1.22C. The laser from my icx still shot forward. If it was constant it would have fallen behind me.

similarly, a dual laser shot sideways at a velocity of 1.22C goes out perfectly straight.

I first thought about setting it to 2.2C, but that would have been ridiculous. As it was stopping from speed probably took 500ls, and the ranx ship was visible for well under a second per pass.
here's a better screenshot, getting it required pausing before the encounter and advancing frame by frame with spacebar

The icx has awsome reflexes, it managed to hit the shot (but didn't have the punch to destroy it if I remember right).
