Loving the new revenge code on the Ferians, George. I was not expecting that many warriors at once. I figured I could just bust the nest, loot, and boogie to a friendly station for some help with the miners. I did survive though. Heavy Ithalium is nice stuff.

Three, I think. But considering I was doing close range base busting it was more than enough for an 'oh crap' moment. Those plasma cannons are nasty up close, even with resistant armor.

It IS nice. Except for the bug where even if an enemy destroys the Ferian base the warriors are still after YOU.

But it was a wonderful "... OSHT!" moment for me too. They are still crunchy, just dangerous crunchy. Class V not very good right then...

Oh my are they ever crunchy. It takes some work for me in a freighter, though, which isn't my usual choice of ride.

But considering I'm up to about ten ferian nest kills this game, I think I've got the hang of it. And enough rins for an IM90 before Point Juno.

I was particularly proud of the one where I took out two ferian nests at once (they were right next to each other) and killed about eighty percent of the miners with a circle of wrath. I think that's my new tactic, in fact. Much faster than shooting them.

Nonsense, that makes too much sense...
Time to try it. It may very well take a good chunk of the warriors' armor down too.

I hadn't tried it on Warriors. I felt it was more fun to pick them off with my tev9.

Of course I just got an IM90, so the whole process is now significantly easier, domina power or no.

Light Ithalium Armor... mmm. That's what they have apparently.
I'm upgrading as much as I can before Point Juno, currently have a Koshiba 500, Katana, Xenophone Ion Lancer, Plasma Torch, Mark V, and a Taikon-10. That's my main issue, I can't find the ion crystal anywhere and I don't have the rin to get the 1GW to make the 200 worthwhile... Blah.

But farming Ferians is fun again with Circle of Wrath and my Ion Lancer. Just more difficult to get started with it.

Handy hint: You can exploit the bug I posted in the Bug Forum so that Warriors spawn and attack an asteroid.

That way, for all the death-spawn Warriors will attack you, the rest will only be a risk if you don't dodge their misses ;)

You can use this to get the armor, the guns, and/or the fuel...but it is technically cheating ;)

When I was "testing" it for my thread, I had 7 Warriors on the screen.
When I went back to the game after posting, I let them spawn....and spawn...and spawn......until they blew the base with fragments from the asteroid they were blastin the bejesus out of.

In the end, I estimate the number of total Warriors spawned (including the death-spawn ones) at at least 15. Probably at least 16 (I counted 12 blasting the asteroid at one point, after killing one or two....and several were circling after the base blew) Sadly, only TWO armor segments were intact.....and none of the guns were.

But the pleasure of having a warrior STAYING STILL so I can blast it with my PM6 is.....significant.

The only troubles are: 1. Triggering the glitch & 2. Getting the miners..since if the colony is killed by asteroid fragments (as mine was :P ), they'll just gate.

...Time for me to blow up some more Black Markets and get MOAR molotoks after me....

the number of warriors that are spawned at max (if i read correctly the script) is 1/3 of the total number of the miners; and the number of miners is a random number up to 1/2 the number of asteroids at less than 60ls of the station hive. (in rare case is a random number up to the full number of asteroids at less than 60ls).

In some fortunate (or unfortunate!) cases, there could be up to a dozen warriors spawning when the hive is destroyed.

A safe way to desotry a hive could be to destroy a couple of miners, let a single warrior spawn and destroy it, repeat until no more warriors are spawn (they have the cap limit), then destroy most of the miners, then the undefended hive. Loot.

Yeah, digdug. I've run the cap down before, albeit unintentionally. But that wouldn't really have worked for my current setup. Running an IM90, Pteracnium Megadrive, and Taikon-200 before I've even gotten to point juno is a touch risky. So I've been going for speed kills. As it is I usually end up 3/4 draining my Hyperion's tank before I'm finished (including looting all the miners). Although circle of wrath speed things up quite a bit.

Am I the only one who turns equipment off when I'm not using it?

Like those big shiny guns I don't need to use for basecracking that take up anywhere from 25 to 100 MW just sitting there? No.

I have fun equipment stories but here is not the place.

only basecrackers that can't be used for beans against another fighter. Other than that, I leave them in standby... just in case...

I often install solar panels and then turn off everything and sit on the sun.

There should be some penalty for sitting upon the sun... though I don't think damage is it. Perhaps instead you should get progressive "Heat warning! Death in "+x+" seconds!" messages until you die of heatstroke.
[schilcote] It doesn't have to be good, it just has to not be "wow is that the only thing you could think of" bad
