Location: Hmm... I'm confused. Anybody have a starmap to the Core?

How can I get a specific GateID that the player has recently gated through? Is there an event that gives me the gateID?

You would look at the previous system and check for the gate that leads to the current system. At least if i understand the question right

The problem is that I'm not sure if there is a function to get the GateID from the gate (which is separate from the the gate as a spaceobject).
I need it to be able to use ObjGateTo properly to get back using the same gate through code instead of a predetermined location.

You use sysGetStargates... that returns gateIDs

It's hard getting a specific gate. I can use (random (sysGetStargates)), but it makes the gating effect clunky (the player doesn't come back the same way they came in).
