TVTropes.org.

I was searching for a game similar to EV: Override as well. After playing through EV:Nova for the (insertrandomdoubledigitnumberhere)th time, I wanted to find something else to play that wasn't such a system hog on my 9-year-old laptop. Then one day, while walking through TVTropes, I happen along Transcendence. I think I started around 0.8 or maybe 0.9, can't quite recall now, but I love it since. It still runs pretty well after updating to 1.3 RC 2 (still haven't updated to 1.5 yet) even if it lags out majorly in some systems with lots of ships shooting at each other.

My father downloaded a butload of free games. Fired it up, and tried it out.

I really don't know anymore how I discovered it  . Have been playing Transcendence for a very long time. When I discovered the game version 1.0 was nowhere in sight. Might even have an old Windows pc somewhere in storage at home with an early version of transcendence on it. I believe it was 0.7 or something like that.

Hello Alls!!!

Long-Time Player, Recent Lurker...

I'm with Critical Tortoise and Xephyr, and no doubt others on this!

Before I deployed, had a sub to an' old gem of a 'zine known as "maximum pc." That issue, as most were when mailed to a PO Box, was wrapped in plastic and contained at least 2 CD-ROMs, one of which had Trans encoded (v0.92 if this old JarHead of ours recalls rightly...)

Also, George, MUCH appreciation and LOVE for a game I have played more off-then-on for more than 25 YEARS! FAR longer than ChronoTrigger (SNES emu, 800+ hrs, -40% complete), Fall Out: New Vegas-Ultimate Edition (PS3, more than 2k hrs, same save, -30% complete...), OR Fall Out: III (x and PS3, GOTY Ed, more than 1k hrs combined...).

You have a beautiful masterpiece here!

For the Record, only other game played found in a similar way: after Duties ended and back to States, wound up living in Lost Wages for a tic as blackjack dealer/bartender. Found a 2USD copy in box of "Vendetta" at Pic&Sav! After finishing the trial, I subbed immediately and was an active member for near five years.

 As of Dec'22, purchased the expansions, "Corporate Command" and "Eternity Port" via Steam!!!

Grand Show George!
