Hello all,
Sorry I disappeared for awhile, my old-old-Old computer finally died last month. So now I am looking for a new system, and I have some questions:
1. Will v1.0 run natively in Windows7 ?
2. Can v1.0 be run in the XP emulation mode (and/or, does v1.0 require a computer with VT) ?
3. What will be the new minimum system requirements? (BION, v99c ran fine on my old 400MHz Dx7 system, albeit sluggish on the higher levels.)
Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated (Moderators feel free to edit).
Thanks all, can't wait to get back aboard!!

RC1 (and 1.0) run natively in Windows 7 (I'm running on it right now).
On Windows 7 (and Vista), Transcendence will use DX by default (whereas on XP it does not). Other than that, there is no difference.
System requirements have not changed radically. If your computer can run Windows 7, then it should be able to handle Transcendence.

That's what I'm asking about. I read that XP mode requires a computer (chip) with VT tech, but what else? Will v1.0 run any better with Hyper-Threading?Wolfy wrote:and if worse comes to worse, win7 has XP mode in every version pro and up
What about three or four cores instead of the usual dual-core?
What about the low-end stuff, Atom netbooks, etc. ...?
No question, I will use Win7. I just need to know how good a system. (As in, can I get by with a Nova-50/100, or do I need a Koshiba??

it runs fine in win 7 without the xp mode. it can even run off of a flash drive if you're so inclined. i used to play at school on their dell workstations with p4s and windows vista 64.
i've never found a reason to go back to my xp partition. it's nice to have but i think i might stick to 7 permanently.Wolfy wrote:I'll be dual booting personally...
