I've decided since trac is down I'd temporarily compile all my thoughts into a single thread for safe-keeping:

Bugs:

With the new increased star light, the jagged black borders on sprites become more apparent than ever.
Navigation map does not render items correctly on a 1080p screen running fullscreen (they begin rendering only once their location is well within the drawable area, by around 100 pixels. Very evident with asteroids)

Centauri occupations spawn too close to friendly stations (~50ls)

Feature requests & Idea notes for modding PoCs:

Ability to disable the hud with a hotkey (for screenshots and the like) - similar to how it can be disabled on the map view
Ability to set the playable screen to not overlap with the hud
Useless stations have more use (Simple vendor interfaces to rescued stations, slums? Random chance of missions?)

sing a radioactive barrel after it is discovered dumps it and creates a temporary expanding radioactive cloud that can damage pursuers. This is probably slightly illegal in the commonwealth and you could be fined a small amount for 'illegal dumping' of radioactive material if any commonwealth ship sees you, but makes them an interesting early-game mechanic beyond a recipe for a fairly useless weapon and a one-off danger to your ship ['course, leaving it in a crate is probably still an option, as it doesn't actually release the material into the environment]
sing organic acid could work out like above.
