I have asked this question on the unofficial forum and I haven't received any usefull answer. They told me to ask George, so here goes:
I have recently bought a new laptop and it has Windows Vista. When I wanna run Transcendence I get a blue screen with text (something about memory dump, I can't read it fast enough) and my computer reboots.
I then get a message telling me that Windows has unexpectedly shut down and that I should run Windows Update to solve the problem. When I run it, it says there are no downloads available... (I have already installed all available ones).
This hasn't solved my problem however.
In other topics on the forum I have noticed that Transcendence does work on Vista, so what am I doing wrong? Is it a problem with Vista or is it something else?

This is probably a bug in the Vista drivers for your graphics card (Transcendence or any other program should never cause a blue screen).
You might try running Transcendence with the /windowed option. This uses different parts of the video driver, so maybe it will have a different result.
If that doesn't work, unfortunately I think you'll have to wait until they have a newer driver.

You need to do that through the command line.
I'm not sure how it works for Vista, but it's bound to be exactly the same as in XP.
Using the Command line (Start menu -> Run -> cmd), navigate to where you have Transcendence (e.g. C:/Documents and Settings/Yugi/Desktop/Transc 0.98a/Transcendence), then add " /windowed" to the end. Make sure to have a space between the Transcendence and /windowed.
If you need even more precise instructions, please ask.
