The Large Hadron Collider is a 7 TeV particle beam (protons).
Wikipedia says:
So an immense energy of 173 Kg of TNT is contained in the volume of 1 grain of sand.Meanwhile, the total energy carried by the two beams reaches 724 MJ. This is equivalent to the detonation energy of 173 kilograms (380 lb) of TNT
the beam pipes contain 1.0×10-9 grams of hydrogen, which, in standard conditions for temperature and pressure, would fill the volume of one grain of fine sand
So the 9TeV will have an energy of 930MJ or 222 Kg of TNT in a very small volume.
It means that the particle beam cuts through an armor like a hot knife through butter !
