1. Trading merchants - merchant realy trading, if freighter arives at station, a few goods buy/sell with station (number of some items/devices in station will change, maybe one/two items/devices apear/disapear) - if it is this implemented in game, I never notice it.
2.ordering (mail-ordering) - you can order certain items/devices from station (in new sceen) based on thier purpose (on commonswealth stations common goods (nothing special ) and on CSC stations (military stuff based on your rank in fleet), on BMS illegal goods, etc.).
3.repairing droids - if is station under no threat and is damaged auton-like repairing drone appears and help with repair on station and drone can repair damaged/destroyed turrets defending station.
4."sleep mode" - lead-in your ship to minimum power consumption, speeding up refueling of ship in suns (save manual disabling of devices). And of cousre - wake up button to full battle-ready ship. (new key commads - sleep/wake up)
5. power usage - display in percentual explication (hope for correct word) current power usage - mayby adjacent to reactor icon - helps in decision to upgrade reactor if is power usage actual/max high in %.

and earlier suggested (by my) but not much discussed
6.how about item/device who prevents taking damge to devices (works as device-protected armors), but adding this ability to ship witout this armors. The device/item - would be another(special) shield or reinforced structural integrity field/hull or special type of armor (which consumes device slot).

7. double armor outer/interior - devices could be damaged only if is outer armor destroyed. But secoun layer of armour can be added on special stations (ringers?) or requires new type ship ?
Of course, outer armor can be limited only to level VII and nonmilitary.

8.autorefueling - added possibility to autorefuel with option to turn on/off - refuel at ringers stations (to save rins) and others (commonswealth etc.)

1) I think this is already implemented.
2) A good idea, though the ordered items ought to be more expensive.
3) Another good idea. There could also be a beam that does the same thing.
4) This would be useful. Maybe you could use a particular button like "k" to turn off all non-essential systems.
5) A GrEaT idea! This would make it much easier. If you want to find out how much you're using then you have to count up at the minute.
6) An OK idea.
7) Veeery nice idea.
8) This would be an EXCELLENT idea! There's an option on Space Trader (PDA game) that refuels you automatically.

Station salvager - dismantle (destoy) wrecks in certain area (2 sceens?)and loots them. And looted (undamaged) devices are possible for buy at stations (after arrival of salvager).

Czert, in reply to your last statement, check out Oddbob's Salvager mod on Thom's website. Rather than the Salvager Nomad taking the looted items to a station for sales, docking bays have been added to the Salvager allowing you to trade directly with it. It works a treat.

It would be great to have them obliterate wrecks after they loot them, too. Some areas end up really cluttered after all.

I have already instaled salvager mod, and my idea of station salvager (different from nomad salvager - may by smaller and new graphic) solves problem in systems without nomad salvager.

From a gameplay perspective, I'd suggest it's a good idea to have wrecks disappear if they don't have any more loot. I think cargo boxes (e.g. from stuff you jettison) do this; it would be nice if wrecks did too. It would make it a lot easier to blaze through the throng of Ferrian husks to make sure you didn't miss a crate of ore or something. It may not be 100% realistic, but it would make it more fun (IMHO) and perhaps also help performance on older systems.

Agreed, Ghengis.

This would probably be the best way overall to deal with the situation. Charon, before St. Katherine's, is a nightmare. You need to search all those wrecks at that point in the game because it's your first source of 'phat lewt', but even if you destroy the ones you've searched, they keep on piling up.

I made a suggestion for a ROM to obliterate ship wrecks and Yugi is trying (AFAIK) to mod it.

Can you mod your own autons? I'd love to see a "scavenger" auton that "eats" wrecks and gives you some (small) amount of creds in return. Perhaps a modded mule that docks with wrecks, loots them, then destroys them? When it's full, it can come pester you (e.g. stay really close to you) until you get rid of some of the garbage it's carrying around. I think that would kick ass. Can it be done?

I bet you could give it the orders a Processor gets. Wouldn't follow you, but it would eat wrecks. You could also possibly mod a dockscreen for it that gives credits, but am I wrong in thinking that Processors take the loot before processing? That's a lot of money right there.
*checks*
Er....maybe. The Gaian Processor doesn't have orders like the Salvager. But it does have a controller of "gaianprocessor". Perhaps this makes it do it's thing? I can't see anythng else distinctive at a glance.
