Bigger planets/stars?

Well, if you tried to make everything to scale, you would have to make the actual solar system to scale, then that would probably make it so you take half an hour flying to another planet.

Not necessarily. I just want larger planets and stars, and maybe the ships a bit more accurate, but not to scale.

What exactly are you trying to say? You want faster action, more twitch and arcade fighting?

I disagree - I think it needs (if anything) to be slower, more battles of maneuver and less twitch.

Slower accelerations or higher top speeds will mean that maneuver is more important - it will be possible to get on someone's tail and stay there because they can't just turn around and thrust for an instant to get full speed in the opposite direction. They may still turn around and thrust at you but they will be vulnerable for a while because of the increased duration of the maneuver. Note that the AI doesn't like this to any large extent currently.

Higher accelerations and lower top speeds will result in more space jousting - but faster-paced because you can turn on a dime.

No, I'm talking about the hardware, the game isn't playing very smooth in other words. Not me specifically. I'm just saying you need to think of the people whos computers can barely handle the game in the first place, why they would be playing a game with a computer like that, i don't know.

In the united states, we only get 5megs of (what was it? mega hurtz or somthing...) while other countries get 10, and we are paying twice as much! All the good tech that other people are using (Civilian computers in other countries) in the U.S. is being hogged by the important government people (probably) so increasing the already sort-of-demanding graphics that the games has ("Don't shoot that shockwave blaster too much at once junior, it'll lag the game!") would be bad for us americans... Stupid greedy political mrons.

Well, I wouldn't know about that. I'm shoulder deep in computer parts up here in Canada :p

You can get any parts in The U.S. that you can get anywhere else; and generally for comparable price...

I was more thinking of the 16k RAM (yes k, not M) Tandy that I distinctly remember paying over $3,000 for in the mid 70s; and comparing what kind of a system you can get for $3,000 today. Most especially if you build your own machine...
Computers and software have never been as cheap as they are now
