Put in the various custom ships/stations/icons for transcendence and maybe even screen shots of such visual content in-game.

The new dreadnought will be all-new. There will also be an assortment of other ranx empire ships including two types of freighters with sub-versions of each.

however, to answer your question, the empire is already neutral to the player, but you have to apply for citizenship prior to actually interacting them them (otherwise it's a similar rejection like the no ID blackmarket or CSC dockscreen- just friendlier)
The ranx story line should be pretty involving however...
