Czert, I really think the problem is a bad download.

Enthropy had the exact same problem (debug.log showed the exact same dump) and he fixed the problem by re-downloading and replacing the .tdb.

If you're absolutely, positively sure that it is not a bad download, then I can do some further debugging.

Either way, sorry for the troubles you're having.

p.s.: I'm on vacation right now, so responses might be slow...

I downloaded today from official page trans again, and problem remains. Tryed today downloaded version on another PC (W-XP, 900 MHZ) and problem was same.
I thing, I downloaded corrupt version, but why ?
If is on official page good version, why I allways download corrupt version ?

All others downloads works fine.

I downloaded it with disabled firewall/antivirus (only cca 1 minute), but problem of corrupted version remains.

Edit : using checksum checker program result is I downloaded uncorrupted version. Thanks guys to posting his checksumms and link to program.

OK, I'll try to get to bottom of this. I'll send you some more debug versions to help us figure it out.

Thank you very much for hanging in there and helping.

I`m having the same problem.
0.96a worked fine but 0.97 doesn`t.
I also discovered that TransData1.2 can`t extract CharonFortress.xml.
Hope that helps.

Great game btw!

I have never said that I had fixed the problem. I was in the woods for a few weeks, so I simply couldn't test any new debugged versions. Also, I don't know, how many error logs I owe you, because when I have returned, my email was flooded by at least 50 mail server error notifications.

I had the very same problem at first. Turns out that it was a corrupted DL. The second DL worked (still does) just fine, except that I recently noticed that the Transcendence.exe remains loaded as a TSR long after exiting the game-eventually resulting as "not responding". Takes a few CAD's to close it out and if I don't CAD out and load the game again, there'll be two Transcendence.exe's loaded as TSR's.

Anyone else have this problem?

OS: Win98SE and Win2KPro

Some in-game oddities; Sometimes, after applying armor enhancers (barrels) for the first time, the remaining barrels (same enhancers) in the hold does not change the info to what they are. Sorry, I can't remember which one's did this but I'll write them down next time it happens and report 'em here. I'm thinking this could be a result of having more than one Transcendence.exe's loaded (mentioned above) while playing the game.
