Bugfixes on several mods, plus a real update:

All Ships Playable

Added 11 more playable ships, total is now 152. I think that's all through 1.0RC6, and includes some ships left out from previous releases.

Three new modpacks added to Xelerus, plus five updated.

Arena Extension

Extends play you can get from the Battle Arena.
- increases Arena points required before you fight The Slicer
- Heavily upgrades The Slicer's ship - don't face him until you're VERY well-equipped!
- Displays Arena points earned & points status after every match
- Adds 55+ new potential opponent ships to the Arena, from all factions - includes destroyers!
- Optional file adds 20+ new playable Arena ships, all of which start in the Rigel system instead of Eridani.

Advanced Start

Allows you to start in St. Katherine's. You have a hold with misc cargo, plus level-approriate weapons, armor, shields, and devices. You may also start with a reputation with various factions. There are two versions of each stock ship, each outfitted to a particular style of play. All the St. Katherine-starting ships come with randomized equipment, cargo, and starting money. The stock ships (with Eridani start) are all left intact; the ship selection screen shows which one you're picking.

Adds five new barrels and a new Cube to the game. Also allows the player to use dangerous barrels (radioactive, acid, and degenerating) to remove attached Pteravores.

Updates:

Playable Ares - added an Ares Map Rom to all Ares playerships. Ares stations no longer check for military ID.

Playable Pteravore - bugfixes. Also disables stock playerships.

Encounter Expansions - Balance fixes. New: Drones now spawn with damage-appropriate shields up to and including Positron and Plasma shields. Assemblers now drop a new type of mnemonic processor (with custom graphic).

I get the error "Unable to load image 'ptera1mask.bmp'" when trying out the Pteravore mod. Is the latest file missing something, or am I doing something wrong? I am relatively new to using mods so it is entirely possible. I am using RC6.

played the new arena and the only issue i have is scrolling through all the new opponents and constantly getting 'you sure you don't want to fight whatever his face instead?'. the slicer is indeed epic and managed to damage some segments of dark matter.

My fault, I missed a file in the latest re-zip. Fixed!

I was hoping the other thread would stay down the queue a little. From now on, I'll confine all the updates/changes to s single thread.

Yep, the opponent selection code can pull a HUGE number of opponents somehow. I thought it was limited to X number but it doesn't seem so. I re-uploaded Arena Extension with the Slicer's gear more randomized. Not much easier, though. Once his missiles are gone, try to stay away from his nose and all he'll have is the cannon to fire at you.
