How can I get a lot of rins?
One of the best ways to gain rins is to attack Ferian hives and ships. Onboard, they have rare ores that can be sold to Ringers for a price.
It is handy to have a cargo hold extension installed, so you can carry more ores. They are heavy.
You can also sell high-level devices to the Teratons.

Greetings
In these forums somewhere, I think I asked what ores and such do ringers exchange for rins. The following is a list I finally came up with.
Ceralloy Ore @26 rins
ChronimiumGas @240 rins
Duralloy Ore @70 rins
Gold Ore @40 rins
Neutronium Ore @400 rins
OrthoSteel Ore @80 rins
Pteracnium Ore @120 rins
Xenotite Ore @70 rins
Hadron Archeolith @800 rins
Ithalium Ore @130 rins
Tetramite Ore @150 rins
Platinum Ore @80 rins
Hyperonic Ore @450 rins
Etherium Ore @1100 rins
Quantum Vacuum @600 rins
Vessel of Boson Condensate @340 rins
Nodule of Crystalline Uranium @750 rins
Malachite Crystal @450 rins
Cerusite Crystal @520 rins
Promethium Crystal @2000 rins
The @number is what the ringers will pay for the ore or crystals or whatever. As Yugimotomanager said, the Teratons will also buy weapons and ammo for rins. And the Ferians are a good way to get ores to sell.
As for how to get a lot of rins, I usually loot every destroyed vessel for usable (undamaged, non military) items. Then I get to a station where I can sell these items. Once I get to the trading posts, I buy crystalline uranium, a couple hundred at a time. At 750 rins per nodule, that's 150,000 rins right there. Of course, I play a ship with a lot of cargo space and have plenty of room to collect usable items!
It all depends on your style of play and the amount of cargo space you have.
Hope this helps.

Strange that the Terotons don't mind you taking out the Ferians, nor do the Ringers. The Ringers will even happily take out any Ferians pursuing you after you take out their colony (if you can't be arsed taking them out yourself.) Seems strange when they are the only ones mining the metals they need.

You can also use mods....just saying....

Teratons don't really need ores. Some nests will even have a variety for sale. Ringers on the other hand, only desire certain types of ores and although the Ferians mine such ores, they are considered enemies.alastairward wrote:Strange that the Terotons don't mind you taking out the Ferians, nor do the Ringers.... I don't think this is possible anymore in 0.97a because the trading posts have a limited "warehouse" for the items you can order.Once I get to the trading posts, I buy crystalline uranium, a couple hundred at a time. At 750 rins per nodule, that's 150,000 rins right there.

You can buy military weapons (for credits) at several places then sell them (for rins) to the Teratons.
Ranx Dreadnaughts are good sources of rin. The kiliton cannons and shells fetch a nice price. I don't have much problems with them anymore, unless there are more than two at a time, then it gets tricky.
also, horde all the Ares nukes and sell them to the Teratons.

I am, in a sense, still learning this game, even though I have been playing since V0.95. And it has been within the last couple months that I discovered what was missing from my ship when trying for a military mission.

It is true that the warehouse has a limit, but even in 97a, I have made the same types of purchases, even at different trading posts. I have also begun to make purchases of longzhu spheres in 200-300 quantities. With my original purchases, and try to make another huge purchase, it might tell me there is only 1 in stock. I'm not sure but I believe the quantity in the warehouse might be a random number: one game there might be a large quantity and another only 1.
As for the Teratons having ores, it is true but the purchase price from them is the same price the Ringers will pay for those ores. You can also purchase ores from Taikon Ventures but their prices are more than the Ringers pay.
I do not think I am giving away any secrets to the game by saying the above.

I wouldn't worry too much about "giving away secrets". A game designed to be replayable--like Transcendence is--can't rely on secrets to keep players interested, because secrets are a one-shot deal.Icabod458 wrote:I do not think I am giving away any secrets to the game by saying the above.
It's important to get any information a player of the game would want to have online. And then all the information can be complied into one big strategy guide, like The Library Link started to do. Any person who "doesn't want to know" can choose not to read it.

If you can get a decent amount of longzhu spheres, you can attack the luminous and repair all the ion cannons they drop (probably one per drone) and they sell for like.. 8k rins each. Same goes for lightning cannons and ares archcannons (worth a lot). I repaired like.. 20 ion cannons, 5 lightning cannons and 5 archcannons and have more rins than you could ever spend now.
