Implement assignable hotkeys 2 usable items in "U' menu

It would be helpful if you could set aside 5 or 6 keys to use as hotkeys for the "U" item menu. For example, I always have to press U then my right arrow to be able to activate my Quantum CPU when I want to scan ships because it is second in line on my menu. If I could assign a key to it that would be real helpful. I know some things already have a hotkey assigned to it automatically but you can't change it. Maybe George or someone else that is capable could start working on this for a future version.;

This is a good idea but is currently not possible unless we had a way to retrieve the <Invoke> scripts.
The only other solution would be to copy all the item invoke codes into a virtual item that would check your cargo for these items and consume them as necessary.
