After we all ruined BlakeG228's thread Heretic Advice (sorry Blake ;) ) I followed CFG's advice and created this thread for roleplaying Transcendence.

The main topic from the above thread was....

Playing a Pacifist - Not killing anything on the path to the Core

Obviously this raised a whole lot of problems as to what exactly constituted a pacifist, so I made this list from suggestions:

1) No enemy craft or stations are to be destroyed by your own weapons; Domina powers may be used offensively

2) This means no Missiles, and no destructive weapons with the possible exception of EMP cannons which will only disable a ship, not destroy it.

3) Autons and fleets you command may be allowed as they are not counted as you killing things depending on how hardcore you want to play

4) Mining is OK, depending on how hardcore you want to play (Some may see this as a destructive act )

OK, any suggestions?

blasting rocks is *perfectly* fine by my standards. Bwahaha!

Also: pacifism is REALLY hard. Especially once you start having random mobs faster than you are (not an issue for wolfens, but Freighter pilots will have trouble).

I'd advise a hull-plate ioniser of monopole for someone else trying this, as a first system upgrade, or a wolfen.

Oh, and autosentinals really suck, incidentally.

Not wrong! Wow, I thought it would be a fun novelty, but as soon as you sell your initial weapon, you feel powerless. I had to wait while Centauri and Charon blew up their own stations to loot and then sell.
I tried trading ore (I didn't use a mining laser), but that was almost ineffective.
Once you go to the second or third system, you're toast, really.

Still, it is a hoot for a while, but it really is hard - I don't think anyone could get to Heretic...but the challenge is out there! ;)

I would exclude mining. (Then again, I don't even use it...)

I'm one system before Charon, and I'm using a ship I'm not familiar with. it's entirely possible, I feel.

True, I've been almost unbelievably lucky in finding decent Autons (autosentinals die in seconds usually)....

Freighter, EMP cannon and Mining laser, Tritium propulsion upgrade, solar panel array, miners hold. 3 Advanced Plasteel +30% segments, one Advanced Plasteel +20%. Yoroi S100 and Nova 50 (yeah, getting a 100 ASAP)

I'm running a couple of 300Ds. As a note for others: If you accidentally order an auton to attack itself, it goes mad and attacks YOU.

At varies from auton to auton

Autosentinel -???
200A - attacks you anyways
300D - attacks you
1Mi - ???
1M - self destruct
Mule - ???

Other ideas for conducts (I'm not doing these, I'm busy trying to find a Nova 100 for my pacifist run):

-No missile weapons
-ONLY missile weapons (yeah, probably not possible unless you exhibit compulsive hoarding behaviour.....but then, I've had over 1600 NAMI missiles in my hold at St.Ks before.....it sucked, but it was quite useful)
- No damage types past X
-No weapon levels past X

Also: i have a new found respect for the 300D. They're surprisingly tough, and actually did surprisingly well in Charon (Which, needless to say, I did not save. :P )

Mr. Nice Guy
I was placed in this galaxy to help all those in need.

1) Kill no ally ships or stations
2) Perform only Commonwealth missions, not Black Market or "shady" tasks
3) Destroy every enemy in every system before moving on
4) Donate to the poor habitats

The Godfather
I'm gonna make him an offer for this martian nori that he can't refuse!

1) Deal with the CW as least as possible
2) Perform no good deeds at all (no helpful missions etc)
3) Deal mainly in illegal goods
4) Actively kill the CW ships if possible
5) Be an all around bad-ass.

These all sound really fun.

I think my dynamic sovereign mod could be adapted to show a dockscreen when the game starts where you can choose a conduct and have all the sov relations set to some custom levels.

I'm currently busy working on the sandbox right now if anyone wants to take a shot at it I could help familiarize you with it and some minor debugging.

Here's another conduct idea:

Blessed of Domina
In Domina we trust

1) Gain domina xp at 2x regular speed.
2) Cannot buy anything, must loot/find all equipment.
3) You must tithe all your credits when you discover a shrine.
4) You must finish what Domina instructed the Ares to do and DESTROY ALL HUMANS! As well as prevent the quarantine from being broken. (requires new endgame check)
Coming soon: The Syrtian War adventure mod!
A Turret defense genre mod exploring the worst era in Earth's history.
Can you defend the Earth from the Syrtian invaders?

New one I thought of:

The Corporate Big-shot
Greed, for lack of a better word, is good.

1) Use the Freighter ship
2) Finish the game having made 1 million+ credits AND 1 million+ Rin
3) Primarily trade, rather than fight
4) Use autons to protect you
5) Trade between all races; trade all goods including illegal goods
6) Trade as often as possible with the Corporate Heirarchy - do not destroy any Commonwealth or Corporate ship
