Teraton Fabrication Pit
Hey, guys, I've been playing 0.97a and noticed the Teraton Stations, and how some have Fabrication Pits. What should I throw in to get something back? How do these (rather smelly, dark, and frightening) things works?

If I offended you, it was an accident and I am sorry.

Short answer:
The Teraton needs Energy and Materials to give you anything back, and feeding it treats to get in a good mood isn't a bad idea either.
Long answer:

Click on the document icon on the top to get the file in plain txt format, it is a bit easier to read.

The link above (http://thelibrarylink.schtuff.com/teraton_in_depth_faq\) does not work anymore and if you change it to use the tikiwiki you have to sign on. Could you post the info somewhere else or here?
This isn't a complete guide but:
high-quality food makes it like you, ore gives it energy. Fuel gives it energy but makes it dislike you. Radioactive waste makes it really dislike you. Ammo gets replicated if you bring it ore and food (but only a little food is required and plenty of ore). It can do other things, but replicating rare ammo is the main thing.

I once posted a short description of the teraton process here:

disclaimers:
* The thread linked contains spoilers.
* emptying your inventory into a teraton pit will no longer cause the game to crash
* kytrynn cannons (I think) no longer require ammo
edited to add: kytrynn *launchers* still require ammo.

I've seen Teratons in .99C. Still terrorizing people who cheat the tech levels on their modded ships.Ttech wrote:Side note: Arn't the terratons in the other versions too. The new versions. .98*?
