I was tinkering around with Google Docs Poll feature and I came up with this - Transcendence Mod of The Month February. It might be neat to try it out and see how it goes, its certainly allows us to fix polls and update information and see the data as tabular data and graphs.

I just tried it out (custard) and think it could work. it should be easy to customize and was quite easy to use, and better than the somewhat-unstable phpBB3 poll we have running ATM.
Just throw in some Transcendence graphics and you're all done!

It is not unstable, just needed to know not to re-edit the entries.ThePrivateer wrote:better than the somewhat-unstable phpBB3 poll we have running ATM.
As you can see here phpbb does not consider it a bug or a missing feature that the poll resets on change. http://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/PHPBB3-9058

Perhaps there should be a two-day period prior to actual voting, to give people time to remove any mods. Then, after the 2-day period, all mods have to stay on the poll. That would work, and wouldn't set the poll back much. How's that sound?alterecco wrote:It is not unstable, just needed to know not to re-edit the entries.ThePrivateer wrote:better than the somewhat-unstable phpBB3 poll we have running ATM.

I have to support the "Unstable" claim. It just gave me the option to vote for a second time.

Yay! I love google docs.
I'm all for that, let's start on poll on whether to poll for the polls to be on docs polls or forum polls.

Sure, it'll probably work better than the current setup.
Also, the mod of the month thread should be located in mod announcements, so that when people reply to it, it does not show up in the announcements board. It can still be globally announced (ie, to show up on all boards)

Apparently the issue was non existent. However, I still think we should try the google docs poll... If it has noticeable less votes though then perhaps we should reconsider (forums polls not being /that/ broken after all).
