I know there are mods that already have planetary orbits, but I also have the Idea of collisions.
so, stations, asteroids, planets, stars, and some wrecks will damage you if you bump into them. like, if you hit one at Sixty Ls an hour, you receive sixty Hp in damage. hitting it at one-twenty Ls an hour results in two fourty Hp of damage. So, a doubling effect.
also, if one occupies the mask of a sun, your ship gets a Radioactive-ish effect of goldenness, and receive very constant plasma damage.
the collisions would prevent people from hiding inside of planets and stars, and make asteroid-rich worlds more challenging. also, orbits are just plain cool.

I tried to make an orbit system, but it didn't work. Another idea is to have planets destroyable. I have worked a bit on that but I still have some problems to work out. I do quite like the idea of collisions. I don't know but could you use the battle arena and add code to cause damage? I've looked at it and it seems to be hard-coded, but I'm wondering if there was a (objOverlap obj obj2) (or something like that) which would return true if they overlap. That would have tremendous potential for modding.
