I was just playing 1.05, and I was in Huaramarca, attempting to kill the Sung invasion when I got blown up in an ensuing explosion. I had bought insurance when I was in Rigel, so I thought I'd be fine. Apparently not.
Does insurance not work in Huaramarca, or was it because of something else?

Kate Morgenthal says " We never resurrect in Huaramarca or Elysium, so DO be Careful .If there are corporate stations in the system, then we are highly likely to resurrect the plilots, but there are times the Cruisers can not get through."
Huaramarca is a "Mission System" : if you die there you fail the mission, IF Kate was to get a Cruiser past the Guards at the gate ( they are only friendly to YOU once you gain their trust) the Cruiser would probably not make it out of there , there would be too many Hostiles flying around once you died.

Elysium : special system for traveling the Universe, Mostly used as a Last Resort by most Pilots , there is an item in the game that will get you there : I will not tell you what item, but it is usually not easy to find.

Where is that quote from? I've never heard it...
But the insurance companies promised me full compensation or whatnot in the event of death. I don't see anything stopping them from ressurecting me in a different system.
Also, I know both items that can be used to get to Elysium

" fine print " :) The Quote is made up ( Fan Fiction ) but it IS the rule straight from the Data base.

But you are correct, they should be more explicit : if you post in the Ideas and suggestions section perhaps the Developer will make an updated text for the newer official version, but I do not think that telling a Player that those systems exist in the levels the company operates is a great idea : it gives things away.

but maybe something like " under certain circumstances..........."

And I have both Morgan LTD and Virkmar Insurance companies ; Morgan is out already, but I will adjust the text for Virkmar and Make sure it is not so Vague as Clavis is.

Insurance does not work in the systems Huaramarca and Elysium. In other systems without active Corporate stations, insurance is unlikely to work. The only place a player can find this out is to read the .xml source files. It would be useful if the game told the player that insurance may fail if the client is killed in a system without Corporate stations.
Download and Play in 1.9 beta 1...
Drake Technologies (Alpha): More hardware for combat in parts 1 and 2!
Star Castle Arcade: Play a classic arcade game adventure, with or without more features (like powerups)!
Playership Drones: Buy or restore exotic ships to command!

Other playable mods from 1.8 and 1.7, waiting to be updated...
Godmode v3 (WIP): Dev/cheat tool compatible with D&O parts 1 or 2.

EXACTLY why Virkmar Insurance exists :) I took this "complaint" to task as a mission in my 2380: Virkmar is supposed to fix this problem .
it is the only reason I made it. ** the Name was picked during my reply to the post, the company itself was made after I figured out what I needed to do to try to make it work.

Being Insured will NOT help the player in the mission, death = failure, but the complaint is not getting the credit's worth by lack of services: so I am working on that.
