Transcendence IRC modding competition

Ok, there will be a biweekly (every 2 weeks) competition for modding on IRC. The time for the next competition is next Sunday 9:00 AM PST.
The rules are as follows:
There will be a theme that the mod will follow
The mod must be made within an hour
The winner will be by a majority vote, and modders and spectators alike can vote, but not on their own mod.
The mod will be pasted and reviewed by everyone, as well as being submitted anonymously.

TVR and I did a trial run with these criteria:
most impressive weapon effect,
must be done in one hour,
themed around black holes,
and winner is by majority.
Also, you cannot vote for your own weapon effect.

As for people who cannot get onto IRC, the theme will be posted on this thread at the same time as it is announced on IRC.

The people who can't make it to IRC should paste in this thread using http://paste.neurohack.com/ and leave author field blank to keep it anonymous.

Wake up early

It'll be a good habit in the long run, and if the rest of your family/roommates, etc don't wake up early as well, you'll have a quiet house for an hour

Ok, not many modders have shown up, so I guess the competition is canceled.
The theme was going to be usable item related to the Black Market, if anybody wants to know.

It takes time, perhaps schedule it in a month advance and let people have time to arrange their schedules.

Hey, I could do something based on that! Roll it over to next time, there's some pretty good potential in that one.

Also: I'd be taking part in these comps...but I really *can't* join IRC at the times we've been having these competitions. There's a limit on when I can get up when I'm doing late-night work.
