Xenophobes bring Fun to All!

So the other day I was doing fleet missions, but then had to stop via getting a bad field crystal (ion transparency) and needing to ditch my Trenton as a result. Then the Xenophobes turned up while I was on my way....

Final casualty list:

-2 Rogue Fleet bases, full set of Centurions + Centurion/X's
-The CSC India, full set of centurions, POSSIBLY some britannias, but I doubt it. It looked to me like it just didn't launch any.
-Half of a nearby rassiermesser factory, all of its docked ships, plus a britannia that turned up and did maybe 2% damage before getting smeared.
-My entire stock of missiles, and all my CW credits I'd spent buying a launcher.
- My auton cloud, which was already weakened by the Ares.
-Somehow NOT Rama. I'd ordered him to hold position shortly before the Xeno's turned up, and it seems he only took a few stray shots. He did a fair bit of damage back though...15% or so (I bumped that up to 24% with missile spam)
-About 30-50 Luminous drones, and about 70% of the factory making them.
-The equivalent of my dying about 4 times. I use armor repair kits a LOT, but this was insane.

The really funny thing is...I'd run out of repair kits, I had no missiles left, it was just me, my badly damaged armor, the planet I was hiding on top of, and my +90% Mark V howitzer. So I made a run for it and lured it over to the ringer shipyard (which oddly, couldn't remove my trenton, or any of my weapons, even though I had the rins for it. it just dulled-out the option to uninstall, despite saying 'This device can be removed for [whatever] rin". Been so long since I played through this far, I'm not sure if that's supposed to happen)....which killed it in a few seconds, although not before losing some of its own guards.

Moral of the story: Don't annoy the ringers, I guess......And never accept a tour of duty on a Carrier. They're really not worth it.


On a further note, this is possibly the first time in living memory where this has happened....but this game appears to have both a Kytryn Launcher AND some ammo for it. I'm *almost* tempted to go for it.

Yes, CSC Task Forces and the Hospitals can't fight back against the Worldships. I've always wondered why they didn't call Aquilas for backup....

This is why I always acquire a Ferian Warrior's plasma weapon as soon as I can get one. Makes very short work of Worldships (and everything else, really).

What can I say, I like to get up close and personal. "Reach out and touch someone".

I actually HAD one. Enhanced, even. My armor/shield combo wasn't good enough to get close, let alone run away afterwards. I ended up having to abandon the savegame later....not strong enough to survive much, not enough money to repair, and getting instakilled on ressurection thanks to a badly timed save. It was actually one of the funner games I've had as a result.
