Last night I was connected to the Internet because my computer was updating something and I just left it alone : when I died the result was posted :

Tonight....nopes. 7205 would have put me on the list i think, HAD I been connected when I died.. and connecting after that did nothing ( the game is waiting for me behind the browser because I am going back in a Sapphire.) .
So this brings us back to the suggestion of a manual posting feature for when the player goes online ( perhaps the game pulls the last high score / save.. I don't know )

NOT that I wanted it known that I died by the pirate ship Triton in the Orgos System : THAT was terrible, I was trying to get away from it but lost track fighting Corsair II s and ended up flying right into the ship's weapon range.

I do have the latest versions but while 1.08 might not be perfect, but it is steady enough that I enjoy it and want to at least get to the ICS before I try anything else :)

Hmm... I haven't seen how it works myself yet, but if there isn't already, I *would* reccomend that if, for any reason, the game fails to post the score, it pops up a box saying "could connect to high score server, [retry] [give up]", so the user can troubleshoot their network or start up the modem or what have you and then do it.

I actually did die again :( 19215, killed by a Corsair in Charon after 2 hours and 54 minutes i think it was.

BUT :
I was looking at the page and got the impression that I KNOW those players are as much addicted to the life as the rest of us: the list should be full of particular names I know I would recognize instantly .....
So that leaves A) they are dying offline or not online at the end game :
B) the server only takes the highest score and disregards the rest.

I was thinking of going with B.

As for the entire " issue " of the game posting I am sure that /George is wrestling with the Keyboard as much as he can while trying to keep his puppies from tracking mud in the office :) so I think that will be resolved pretty quick after the major issues are dealt with because the aim, i think is to get something ready to replace 1.01 that works well : then adjust the server.... but it is going to get flooded, I just know it , there are alot of players out there we do not hear from ..... might need a bigger file :)

" unacceptable " User Names might be an issue... on my Forums I deal with it almost daily : Loschen ?.. Ja!!!!!!!
( my Forums are mainly in German with some English and I often can not believe the stuff they think is " ok " . Drives me nuts that Adults act so immature )

I would imagine that the reason you don't see more big names on the high score list is that they are all playing heavily modded games rather than vanilla
