Shouldn't it be possible to..."dock" on a moving ship and hijack it? Or something like that?

maybe if you have a special device like a tunnel lance.
You shouldn't be able to get equipped devices but other items would be fair game and the enemies should be able to do this to you.

This would be another way to get a new ship other than implementing a shipyard. There would have to be some chance that the ship's crew is able to fight you back, though. trying to take over a larger ship with several hundred crew would be nearly impossible, and you wouldn't be able to run it either!
Docking boarding parties would be cool... but I'm not sure how it's going to work logically within the current game setup, as you're supposed to be a lone pilot, and one man isn't much of a boarding party.
Maybe if you could get a larger ship later in the game with room for a squad of space marines. That would be nice.

that reminds me of my many battles with Ranx dreads. When I destroyed so many of them, I thought "maybe some of the crew got to space suits/ a room that was still pressurised. Surely not 100% of the crew of a large ship could be deas 100% of the time."
with hundreds of people on a ship, someone should survive.

I think Karl pretty much summed it up. You're the only one on your ship. How would you stand a chance against taking an enemy ship with more than one person? And even with a one on one situation, your ship would have to sit there unprotected while you try to attack someone that's already bunkered down on their own ship.

well robots can do the fighting 8)
About being vulnerable of course you would be this shouldn't be a free ride there should be a risk to it. Seems to be a fun thing to do against ammo type ships.

maybe an additional game interface for boarding? a little minigame type of thing? It'd probably be too drastic, but it's possible.

I'm personally against having a 'crew' as such. Having little security/attack robots in the hold, though...that could be fun. They wouldn't have to weigh much more than 10 kilos each. Different sovereigns or ships could be given different difficulty ratings for boarding them, and some enemy ships could attempt to board your ship...
I think that it would be necessary to disable auto-docking when trying to board, though. Make it be manual; you have to hover over the enemy ship at precisely the right point to board. Then you have to stay in contact for a certain amount of time while your robots take over the ship. Then, it's tow time, back to somewhere that would buy them.

Yes boarding of ships...wery interesing and can add deeph and fun to the game, and i think I will love it.
And this will cwrtainly need addd crew to ships - is small ships is destroed...well all crew is lost, bud when big ship is lost..they will use emergency shutles and you can pick-up them - if they are friendlies - you can transport them to any frienly station to get reward for rescuing (or sell them to teratrons for experiments
, but this will better for enemies). prisoners can be "sold" only in military stations.
And yes, crew will be very interesing, you are alone on you ship, but long travels in space are realy long, and be alone it...depresive. And it will be very nice if you can hire additional crew (with different levels) (mohntly pay ) for more "features) like engineer for repairing od damaged items/ship and certain boost to ship speed, weapon specialist for better damage of weapons with knownlenge of weak point of ships, marines for boarding...and of course certain crew can be multi-profesioned (like Rama).

I don't know...having crew along feels like it kills the mood, in my opinion. Besides, who are you going to find that's crazy enough to go along with you other than people with prophesied dooms or manic military pilot chicks?

I don't like the idea of a crew for a Transcendence playership.
If there are extra people along for the ride, they should be in a ship of there own as wingmen and not part of your 'crew'.
I don't want to have to board a dead enemy ship and fight crew to loot it. My feeling about the matter is that the life support was destroyed or the hull breached, everybody inside died, and leave it at that.

Good point, I think only named "exots" (like rama) can go with you to the core, "nameless" (like enginers, weapon specialists, wingmens...) go only from x to y system, and you crew can say (for example) : I dont want leae commonswealth place and go with you to ares spae, I leaving you.Fossaman wrote:I don't know...having crew along feels like it kills the mood, in my opinion. Dvlenk : You will not need to fight i dead ship ship -crew is dead or abandoned ship, you will only fight in live (military) ship.
