I'm relatively new to Transcendence, but I have already learned to create mods for items and ships. I ran into a problem when modding: the game will only accept 5 extensions and then it ignores everything else. I tried changing the names, UNIDs, and content of the already existing mods, and they were still accepted. It's only new files that aren't accepted. Does anybody know what is causing this?

Huh, I regularly have more than ~5 extensions when I play.

Couple questions:
1. What version of Transcendence
2. What mods do you have (can you zip and let me have a look?)
3. Is Transcendence.exe/ the Transcendence folder set to read-only (it's happened to me a few times).

I usually play with 40+ mods. Never found any problems before. Maybe your mods' names are alike? (Don't know if this will really cause a problem) Or the filenames are the same, but in different folders?

Also, this may not help you fix this problem, but make sure to register your UNID so that no one else will use yours to mod.

The folder is not set to read-only. I'm using 0.95 mods in version 1.1 of the game. Do you think the version difference might be causing the problem? Also, I ran into a new problem: the game won't load the shields gfx of the gamma gunship. :roll: I was using it to test new items since nothing new was excepted.

I'll make sure to register my mods when I finish with the basic stuff. I'm trying to create the entire Catfighter Industries mech level series before registering.

Yeah, .95 mods are too outdated unfortunately :(
You can try adding the mods in separately to see which one is breaking the game but you should start from scratch if you don't want to bugfix ~95% of the time.

I've been typing them from scratch since day 1, since that was the only reference I had. I'll try your advise and add them in one at a time.

I uploaded the corrected files. Do you think the problem was fixed?

Unable to find images? You're missing the resources if you're just running with those xmls.

No, I've got the images, they were just too big to upload with the code. Here are the gfx for the Catfighter Warship, which have all been changed to jpg format for upload. (Complements to dvlenk6, whose graphics I use to create my mods.) :D

Btw a new problem came up: after I changed all the versions in the xml files, I tried to add a new ship. It worked fine, but the Catfighter Warship and Gamma Gunship suddenly started using its gfx instead of their own. Their code stayed the same, but all the gfx were messed up. Any idea what's causing this? (I'll upload the new gfx in my next post.)
