Ok, first, thank you for the amazing game, you and everyone involved. I'm not a rabid player, but it's a game I always come back too. The past two or three years, I seem to have a two or three month span where I play the tar outta this game, and it's improved every time I come back. It is amazingly awesome.

Now, to the meat of the post. Have you considered putting a version of this onto Xbox Live and PSN? Yes, I know it would be a huge task to re-write the code for the various versions, but I can't see it not being worth it. In the past, people have worried about commercializing a game being the start of destroying it, but there have been recent success stories that have proven contrary. Terraria and Minecraft have both made their name in the console market, yet both are still very, very strong in their PC versions, with very active communities. Cave Story also made it's way onto two different systems, with nothing more than a graphics re-write, but I can still go and download the original PC version for free, right now.

From a completely self-centered standpoint, I'd love to play this game on a Vita while, well, anywhere. But from a more altruistic one, you deserve more credit for how amazing this game is, and a bit of well-earned money never hurt anyone. Also, frankly, the game industry needs titles like Transcendence right now. Everything is becoming COD, and things that don't follow the pattern are amazingly wonderful surprises. I think you could be very successful there.

If you want to stand your ground and keep it a free, pc only game, I understand, and I respect you for it. Also, I'll sure-as-boogers keep playing. I just think that this could be an awesome thing on consoles, too.

Thanks for reading this, and thank you so much for the game. :-)

Thanks for the wonderful compliments!

I would *love* to port Transcendence to Xbox and/or Vita. I don't have any aversion to consoles or to non-exploitative commercialization. And I believe the community as a whole would benefit.

Unfortunately, the porting process is right now too time-intensive for me to undertake. What I plan to do is wait until I'm able to hire one or two programmers who can port to other platforms while I continue on the main game. That will take some time (one or two years minimum) but it is a plan for the indefinite future.

Of course, the source code is up there on GitHub right now, so if anyone wants to port, they could do so. The current license does not allow commercial use, but I'm sure we could easily agree to terms if anyone were interested.

That is a great thing to hear. I really hope it works out, because this is honestly a very high-quality game, and I'd love to see it reach a larger audience. I just wish I had the programming skills to help make it happen.

On that note, anyone who helps him port this to console can count on my vote when you run for President, assuming George doesn't run first. :-)

Thank you for the personal and timely response. Your interest in the community is a large part of what has made this game great. Happy holidays to you and yours!

Probably the biggest non-technical hurdle (ie, not including porting and getting a UI & control scheme that works with consoles) is the issue of mods - though registered extensions can probably be worked in as 'dlc'.
