Figured this might be interesting info.
I first discovered Transcendence on Wikipedia, while browsing through https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_freeware_games. It was one of the few freeware games back in 2009, with low system requirements and sounding like a fun way to kill some time.
So, how did you find out about Transcendence?
How did you learn of Transcendence?

Found out about it on the battleships forever forum.
Not sure what category that would be though, but it was an indie freeware game, so i'll go with that option.

Oddly enough I was looking at George's astral photography first and happened across the game in his posts.

Believe it or not, there was a time when people mostly found out about Transcendence from CD-ROMs stuck inside a printed magazine.

I... have completely forgotten how I came across it. It'll come back to me. I hope. >_>'
Me too.. although I suspect I was searching for free, non-MMO (ie standalone) at the time; it may have been linked from a Nethack pageUltimate Chicken wrote:I... have completely forgotten how I came across it.
IIRC my earliest experience was with v0.94.. then with 0.96 and counting..
Dom

To be honest, that they I just learnt the word Transcendence, by googling it. And shortly after learning the word I look through the search results, and found this game accidentally. Not what I really expect from the title, though.

Yes, look at my avatar, I have a wyvera type ship.

I learn of Transcendence through Starcom (write up on the development). Someone wrote a comment along the lines of 'If you like Starcom, you should google Transcendence'.
