Just a thread to collect Ideas:

I would like to see more Outlaw, Pirate, and Urak ships early-mid game. Such as:

A ship armed with a PK25 Morningstar Cannon. This is an interesting weapon because it severely hampers blast and kinetic weapons' ability to harm the wielder. Particle too, though to a lesser extent.

Corsair III: Class II deflector, Dual turbolaser, and very liberal with the KM100s.

Viking III: Class III deflector, shuriken, and an omni turbolaser.

I want to see a second launcher on the Tripoli. Its not much better than the Drake as it is, just harder to kill.

Urak interceptor: (Omni) urak mass driver, faster.

Urak gunship: Advanced urak mass driver, not so fast as the interceptor, but faster than the other ships. Also

I would also like weapon arrays of lesser weapons for use in later-game situations. For instance: a PK25 and a Shuriken. or an Urak howitzer and a shtorm repeater. How about three Turbolasers, two partisans, and a mark I howitzer?

Some misc. weapon ideas:

Advanced recoilless cannon: Weapon heats up like advanced tritium, fires shots very rapidly, but possibly with some distortion in direction and/or velocity.

Tricoil Turret: Fires three kinetic shots. Omnidirectional.

Minimine Turret: Rapidly fires slow blast shots. Omnidirectional. Not a good weapon for enemies running away but for enemies that take to the chase or stand still... This weapon would make for an interesting enemy ship more than a good player weapon. The enemy ship just runs circles around the player and tries to trap him/her in a circle of death.

It's not so much new enemies, as more of a want to see the Xenophobes restored to their former glory of "Unholy Terror of Space" status :)

I can agree that Xenophobes should be made more common. They should indeed be a terror. Only I would like to see more varied xenophobe fleets that span the whole game. Some more advanced, some less. However, the Xenophobe Worldship needs to be changed so that CW stations and CSCs aren't so endangered by them if they start to become more common. I suggest four levels of fleet:

1. More like the Xenophobes as we know them today but with much less armor on the capship.

2. Basically just upgraded versions of 1 except with the familiar Worldship replacing the easier one. (except that it actually takes nominal damage from TeV 9s)

3. Meant to pose a challange to ships with unenhanced VIII shields and weapons or enhanced VII shields and weapons. Blast weapons introduced

4. Meant to pose a challange for ships with Lamplighter and an IX or X shield. Doesn't use particle damage very much anymore, switched mostly to thermo and blast.

Some ideas for a more varied Xenophobe fleet:

A new weapon:

A weapon that fires a short-range burst of particle fire (Like a frag except the ship itself is the center of the explosion) coming in two flavors: weak and strong (For now code-named Foo, Bar respectively). Blast version Baz.

Fleet 1 gets everything the Xenophobes have now with with the changes stated above plus two more two changes, the capship gets Foo, and the fleet recieves another fast ship armed exclusively with foo.

Fleet 2 gets everything fleet 1 has with the changes stated above plus:

The original fighters get an additional two lancer cannons and become faster.
The foo ship gets more armor and becomes faster.
The fleet receives a new ship armed exclusively with bar has the same amount of armor as the upgraded foo ship but is slower.
The original heavier ship gets foo and an additional lancer. Possibly more armor

Fleet 3 gets everything fleet 2 has with the following changes:

The original fighters get a Shtorm repeater.
The foo ship is upgraded to Baz, gets a heavy slam cannon (omni), and is made slower.
The Bar ship gets more armor and a Shtorm repeater.
The original heavier ship gets two Shtorm repeaters.
The capship gets two Shtorm repeaters.

Fleet 4 gets everything fleet 3 has with the following changes:

The foo ship is dropped.
The Bar ship gets a foo and a baz instead of bar and becomes faster.
The original fighters get a thermo cannon and lose 2 lancers.
the original heavier ship gets two thermo cannons and heavier armor.
The capship gets two thermo cannons, two Ion blasters, and gets heavier armor (trying to make it more imposing than the Phobos).

I recently made a mod related to this. instead of giving them different types of weapons, i just notched all the ships up one level and made a lancer tev9(4 repeating). All ships got the lancer tev9 as their main weapon to replace their lancer, the defenders got a mark V howitzer and the worldship got a star cannon style lancer (4 repeating) with a fusionfire. For armor the fighters got heavy meteor, the defenders got worldship and the worldship got orthosteel w/ a mammoth 100 w. Not sure about balance, but it was a devastating combo for sure. :)

I would like to see an "outlaw group", or dacoits that you can ally with. They would be opposed to those fascists, the Commonwealth, and they could install military devices without you having to own the military ID chip.

They would be harder to find though, generally around the very edges of the solar system and away from any major planetary landmarks. Joining them would mark you for imprisonment by the CW if you dock at a CW base.

I'd also like to see bounty hunting 8)
You could be given missions by an agency to kill a certain ship in the system. You would need to find the ship and identify it using your targetting ROM. This could be quite challenging, especially since you can't kill the ship while its docked (or risk the wrath of which-ever base the ship is docked at), and the ship you attack would likely be a souped up craft with decent shields and good speed, and would travel from base to base.

The first mission could be as simple as finding and killing a basic freighter with an omni-laser or an armed earth-shuttle, but later mission might involve destroying well modified wolfens, ronins, centurions, maybe nomads and so on. Mission details could be information such as:

Captain Bretlocus of the Wolfen ship Hobgoblin is wanted for crimes related to running contraband narcotics through the Rapture system. Destroy him and return here for your finders fee, 2000 Credits

That gives you an intication of what kind of ship you are looking for, what system he is in, and what you can expect to loot from his cold, blown up carcass
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
