improving Trenton field generator

Trenton field generator and any shield like it isn't very popular right now.
A couple ideas to improve on it (so as to improve shield variety).

Resistance is added to armors. That way you can have armor enhancing shields (they don't take damage they just improve on armor)

Built in armor repair in the shields. This would be very interesting if it was fast enough. Good armor and these shields could be just as good as good shields but you need good armor first.

any other ideas for alternative shields?

The Trenton isn't popular right now but it is powerful. Much more so than you would think. I don't know quite how longhuzus effect (does it increase the decrease in damage?) it but it is *immune* to particle beams and other such lesser weapons (but particle beams are the main one). My one gripe to its playabillity is that it lets radiation (understandable) and device damaging particles do their work. Otherwise it is actually an amazing shield.

Cool shield attributes I'd like to see include:

Immune to EMP
Recharged by energy weapons (can be modded)
Negates Momentum
Stealth
Never goes down, but leaks as it takes more damage

I like the Trenton but I've only used it once - with a Sapphire. You have to build your ship in a very specific way to make the most of it. ICX, regen and/or patcher arm/spiders and great armour are needed, for that reason, it is probably most suitable for the freighter which can support Dwarg Catastrophic [or whatever] Plate + enhancements.

Maybe it could be used with meteorsteel armors.
Just a thought. I've been awake for close to 72 hours and can't think too clearly right now...
