I jsut noticed this. Does this have to do something like if your ship is poweful have some pirates and other ships surrender. Instead of being distroyed, you can lootem' but they fly away. same with stations. What ya think?
Well I was thinking what could we do in our current modding capabilities. I don't think would work very well anyway if you are powerful enough for them to be afraid of you they wouldn't have anything of worth to you. Plus I really don't understand stations flying away? Do you mean something like the defenders try to take the loot first? The loot would still easily be gotten still due to the player's ship speed and power.
The reason I wanted this mod in the first place is to limit greatly what you get to choose from game to game. I am not a fan of expanding the item list for that purpose (I don't mind for other purposes like more damage types or different sovereigns) due to the fact you can still basically play with the same weapon. It might have a different name and due a small amount more or less but that will not get you to play any differently. Unless I am thinking of this the wrong way please correct me if I am.
Crying is not a proper retort!

I think we were heading in the right direction with some loot screen filters and treasure table adjustments. It's simple and direct, with a lot of effect.

Expanding the variety of items in the loot category would be nice so you aren't trading the same items all the time.

Treasure could be inventive and fun to discover- it's a collection of interstellar civilizations, they must have trillions of products, trinkets, collectibles, art, artifacts and all the other detritus of culture.

In that sense, perhaps setting up some loot tags and making them sort of official for expansions would be a place to start- have some preset ways to distinguish the loot then we can add to it in chunks and whimsy via extensions.

the stations flying away is a typo, its the ships, becaues if you come back from the near end of the game, the ships are really weak so they would "surrender" don't have to loot 'em, but they surrender, but looking back, it would be a lot of work ot accomplish.

:)

Tell me all about it over on the mod thread. I bet you got hold of some deprecated system codes somehow. The effect when you are not on a gate is intentional.
