I'd like to have some kind of "Reserved Cargo Compartment" to store in the ship those things I don't want to sell (by mistake).

When you have a lot of things to sell at a station and also have a lot of things you DON'T WANT TO SELL you waste a lot of time looking at your items and no matter how well you look you always end selling something you don't intend to.

This is just a "View Reserved Compartment" in the ship's screen, a "Move to Reserved Compartment" in the ship's cargo hold screen, and a "Move to Cargo Hold" in the "Reserved Compartment" screen. The space (weight) is the same as items are actually stored in the cargo hold but the items in the "Reserved Compartment" won't show when you open the "Sell" screen at a station.

There should be little work to implement this into the game and I believe is very important to have such an option.

Please tell me what you think about this and some name suggestions for the compartment in case you don't like the "Reserved Cargo Compartment" thing.

That doesn't usually happen to me (though I must admit it does happen), and I think a solurion has alredy been discussed. A few weeks ago it was voted (not in a proper poll though. Maybe there should be one?) that the items in our cargo bays are sorted as tabs. Maybe you could do something like click-and-drag into another tab called "Special" or "Needed" etc.

I like this idea, but for the use menu and other things

Yep Yugi, I know about the tab thing and I gave my vote to the idea too. What I want given the tab case is a "Reserved" tab with the same previous characteristics. The point is to avoid selling things by mistake.

Yes, I know what the point is.

Ah, that was the word I was looking for! Reserved. I couldn't really think of the correct word :D

This would be useful, but I'm not sure if I would like to see it or not. I like the simple mechanics of buying and selling stuff right now.

What about having a "lock" option on items in your inventory. Items that are "locked" will have a lock icon on them in the inventory and cannot be sold or dropped. When you click/select any item in your inventory, you get a lock or unlock option in the right side of the screen.

Good!!! :D That is the main idea behind the "Reserved"...

This solution might seem useless because you can always "rebuy" something from a station but you can't recover the "Starwars 3DV" (you were saving for a BM ID) from the Corporate Maintenance Shop and finding another one might be a though option given the random generation of items in the game.

What about if transactions weren't completed until you confirm?

So bought items go into a "shopping cart" first and then you pay all at once.
Same can work for sold items too.

The UI for this could be, "increase quantity to buy" and "decrease quantity to buy" buttons and a "complete purchases" button.

My solution to this is to have one mule with my "important" stuff, and I just don't loot that one. Two points this brings up: one, can I name my autons, when I have e.g. 3 mules? Two, I've found that there's not many auton dealers towards the end game, and nobody ever seems to drop mules. I really like to have them, but they tend to wander off and get themselves blowed up -- either a "run for cover" command, or more mules, would be really nice.
