They don't actually curve per se. You are travelling, say speed 20 in a direction relative left to you. The missile is launched, travelling speed 50 in front of you. It works best if we think of the two axes seperately. Now the missile starts to accelerate away from you on the front-back axis (remember you are still travelling "left") and it also accelerates on the leftright axis. The missile is now going faster than you on the left-right axis, say, speed 30. This makes it pass you and appear to curve.they shouldn't CURVE the way your travelling when you fire them... i could see drifting at the same rate of speed you were traveling at when launching them...maybe it should only work for guided missiles?
