I think the Longzhu Spheres are vessels that house a tiny amount of antimatter, which is infinitely unstable when contacting normal matter. The archcannon launches the sphere, which breaks on impact, causing a matter/antimatter reaction.
Sphere provides 120 charges though. That's an effective way to make an antimatter projectile (just don't accelerate it too fast ;)), but you can only use it once. Perhaps the weapon makes it's own, or the sphere contains 120 little antimatter balls. Google tells me 100 milligrams of antimatter equals the engergy produced in propulsion of the space shuttle, so they don't have to be big at all. Magnetically suspending the particles strongly enough so that they don't hit the side of the container during transit but do on imapct would be most of the size. Longhzus are a kilogram.

Antimatter is (as everything) a form of energy, and if you know how to control it you can do whatever you want with it, from powering reactors and weapons to repairing damaged devices. Maybe the "antimatter" type of this energy allows to recompose the strcuture of the devices to athomical level and that is why it can be used to repair energy devices, which are the only optimized to channel great quantities of energy the right way.

Breaking that would result in vast numbers of high mass positrons flying off at near light speed. Much more powerful than a mere nuclear reaction, which only uses a small fraction of the available energy of an atomic nucleus.
I thought positrons had approx the same mass as an electron - just an opposite charge. Anyways, antimatter as we know it does not exist in the form you described. As far as we know, only matter forms structures as complex as atoms. Anti-atoms do not exist, but their component opposites do. Anti-protons and positrons are opposite in charge of protons and electrons. Neutons don't have any charge so they don't have an antimatter equivalent and probably would not react any differently with antimatter than they do with matter.

Anyways, my knowlege is not complete (or guaranteed accurate). I reserve the right to ignorance as I lack a PhD in quantum physics.

In 4 years I will have an MPhys (Master of Physics), so here goes:

Antimatter is exactly the same as normal matter, except it has the opposite charge, so a positron has the same mass as an electron. When a particle and it's antiparticle collide, they annhilate each other giving energy equal to E = mc^2.

Neutrons are composed of 3 quarks (2 down quarks and one up quark), so an anti neutron would be formed of 3 antiquarks (2 antidown and one antiup), giving it the same mass but the opposite charge (0 is the opposite of 0), so these two particles would annhilate each other. To get completely accurate here I would have to describe the Standard Model of Particle Physics, which describes the 12 fundamental particles and their antimatter partners. It suffices to say that every particle has an antiparticle, due to the fact that all 12 fundamental particles have an antimatter equivalent.

There is nor reason antimatter atoms cannot exist (that I know of anyway). One of the great puzzles of Physics is why there is so little antimatter in the Universe - matter and antimatter should have created in equal proportions to each other, but there seems to be far less antimatter in the universe than matter.

If anyone know better, correct me.

Ooops  , I was thinking of protons for some reason, but I guess that doesn't apply. It's been 25 years since I studied any kind of physics.

George, can you give us some specifics on the new Dragon Slaver? Weapons, shield, armor, items, graphic etc.?

Sorry, I haven't worked on it yet, so I have no specifics to give.

Ok. What ideas do you have yet?

I haven't thought deeply about the Dragon slaver (and it may never happen). A few ideas:

1. Obviously it needs to use a Qianlong archcannon
2. It probably should have one or more cyberattacks. One possibility is for it to have a scramble-type attack (ship is paralyzed, as if hit by EMP cannon)
3. It needs to be very hard to kill.
4. It should probably be pretty fast, almost as fast as a wind slaver, and it should retreat when its shields drop.

Should it be a capital ship or a mid-sized heavy gunship? I don't know.

Any other ideas?

1. Definetely. Possibly a dual version, or omnidirectional if it's a capship.
2. I think it should have all cyberattacks made so far, and possibly a couple of new ones (a reactor damaging one?).
3. Yes. Veeery hard. Kinda in-between a Sung Citadel and the Iocrym.
4. I wouldn't say it should be fast. It should be a little faster than the Earth Slaver, and it should retreat. I think most ships should retreat if their shields drop.

I think it should be a very large (between cometfall and mikeno), and be classed as a capship.

This sounds like two ships, a capital ship and a gunship.

1. Obviously for both ships.
2. The gunship could have peaceful constraint or something about as strong, the capship could have shieldsdown or disable.
3. For sure, the capship should be very hard. I think the gunship could be quite hard enough with a QAC, Yori 100, fast maneuvering, a patch spider, and the sense to retreat.
4. the gunship should be for sure...but the capship? I think the capship should be only a little faster than the Earth slaver, but have a mini jump drive to make sure that the player does not just run from it.

George, perhaps an middle-strengh capship for the sung could be made as well, the earth slaver seems a little easy for mid-game.

I think this would be a good time to reiterate that disable/scramble attacks, which are unblockable, and cannot be ameliorated in any way by the player, are pretty annoying in their current form. It's like somebody has a nuclear shotgun -- you might get insta-gibbed, and then again you might not. I don't usually like luck to play such a large part in whether I live or die, but that's just me.

The fact is, Ghengis, that luck doesn't. If you let yourself in range of an Earth Slaver, that's your fault (at least if you are playing the Wolfen that is).

It's not currently implemented, but it is my intent that the player should be able to get defenses against cyberattacks.

Probably installing a quantum CPU should provide some level of defense. After that, the player should be able to run programs (cubes) to increase defenses.
