Shouldn't there be a topic where people without modding experience and such could request mods and such?

Death Star

Description: A ship looking like the infamous (or famous) Star Wars Death Star.

Weapons: There should be at least one big laser or beam weapon from the front. It goes through asteroids like butter (super mining laser?), completely erasing them from the screen and map (O.O). As for planets, maybe a big explosion and and the appearance of a big cloud of big asteroids and ore.

Shield: Semi-immune or reflective to lasers, particles and energy weapons. Resistant to kinetic and blast, 1000hp.

Devices: 10 slots, three for weapons. Super ICX turret (laser? Or something else?) that that works against all projectiles and/or enemies.

Armor: Something very resistant to energy weaponry.

Power: 10GW reactor, the super energy weapon bites of a quarter of the fuel.

Cargo Capacity: 1000 Tons?


God Mod Yacht

Description: Hornet BattlePod

Weapons: Omni-Laser Supreme, kills everything and always leaves a wreck. Does not damage or irritate friendlies (if they are hostile, then it does). Tracks enemy. Range would be the whole radar, and travels at very high speed. Can act as a mining laser, in the use menu the tracking can be shut offline.

Shield: Immune to everything, 100hp.

Armor: Immune to everything, including radiation, EMP and so on, 50hp.

Devices: 20, all of them for both weapons and gadgets. Miner's Cargo Hold. Super ICX turret.

Power: Infinite Reactor, never ends of fuel and such. Never overheats...

Cargo Capacity: 1000 tons.


Shoop Da Whoop

Description: A giant (station size) black floating head with eyes and an open mouth with red lips.

Weapons: Lazor, a wide beam that can reach one end of the system from the other end. Annihilates everything and turns into space dust (Iocrym quantumsphere type dust particles). By everything I mean everything, stations, ships, planets, asteroids with the exception of the sun and star gate. Has a three second charge-up during which "I'ma chargin' ma lazor!" is heard. Then as the charge-up ends "BLAARGH!!!" is heard and the beam exits the mouth.

Shield: Immune to everything, 1337hp.

Armor: Immune to everything, 1337hp.

Devices: Does it need any?

Power: Infinite...

Cargo Capacity: Does it need any?

"Hello this is Anna Cherenkova, Galactic News Network. And today we have... are you serious!" *yells at the screen*

"Yes!" *camera man and studio*

"*cough* Starton Eridani and countless more systems have been annihilated by something that looks like a 'giant black head with red lips'. The losses are catastrophic as the 'head' continues to literarily erase everything in all systems with the exception of the sun and the star gate. Hold on... were receiving and update..." *wide eyed*

"We just received information that the head just emerged in the Saint Katherine system, it seems to be saying something." *trembling voice*

"I'ma chargin ma lazor! ... BLAAARGH!!!"

We'll that's it, though probably these requests are utterly impossible. If someone somehow is able to complete all of this, consider you have all kudos I can muster (and probably everyone else too).

Actually all those three requests are possible.

The playerships mods are easy, you just need to find someone willing to render a Death Star in transcendence format.

Events exists to make possible for a station to shoot from time to time.

The biggest changement/"script intensive thing" to Transcendence is to make a weapon that destroy planets and asteroids, but in theory it's possible.

Any comments ?

Anyone willing to accepts those funny godmodded playerships requests ? :D

More requests! This time they aren't that much trouble (Probably).

Anarchist Carrier (Enemy)

Description: Looks like a cross between a mobile marauder platform and an anarchist settlement. Has two visible loading bays.

Weapons: Able to deploy three MK. II Hornet BattlePods each ten seconds. Usually escorted by ten to fifteen of them.

Shield: Laser reflective (50% of the time), resistant to particle and such. Weak against EMP and radiation.

Armor: Something suitable to it...

Power: 1GW or 100MW

Cargo Capacity: 300 tons

Loot: Slave pods, armor, shield generator etc.
"Sir, we have an alert."

"Someone destroyed one of our stations?"

"Yes."

"Who?"

"Anarchists..."

"Impossible. *sigh* Alright, alert the crew. We're dealing with them."

"Yes Sir!"

~Last Recorded audio from the Corporate Cruiser sent to investigate the destruction of a corporate station. Investigation say that there were almost thousands of heavily modified Anarchist battlepods flying around the wreck of the cruiser.

Something for the anarchists, who seem to be almost weaker than the Centauri. If you don't take care of the carrier quickly, it can overwhelm you with hornets.

Maybe, rig it to appear if you destroy a settlement? And after that either guarding other settlements or sometimes appearing from nowhere to chase you.

I don't think this is possible...Not like that anyways. If the weapon is omni-directional then it might be possible, but also might require defining wreaks for every ship in existence.

The coding is possible and sometimes rather trivial, but the graphics would be harder to get your hands on.

Modding isn't that hard though. That said, I do make simple programs just for fun. You should try the Hornet Battlepod Mk. II yourself. All you have to do is make a mod, copy over the hornet battlepod code from the xml source, and edit its equipment.

The only thing that "F50's modding tutorial" (admittedly, it is in need of updating and splitting when I have time) doesn't cover with regards to making that ship is how to make the missile launcher. The mayakev launcher is very similar, the only thing is that the missiles don't track.

It's all very doable...

Actually, getting worlds to blow up involves mostly 10% genius, 90% ctrl+c/v

A big fat super-laser style weapon shouldn't be too hard to do, I was thinking of how to do one the other day as a matter of fact...

Just have been testing my own build 'God Mod BattlePod'. Frankly, it sucks and the handling is horrible. Add to the fact that I don't know what is the most powerful omnidirectional beam weapon in the game, how to change/do armor resistancy and such.

So yea... I'll change the description of the God Mod ship. One super laser to wipe out everything, and the other just some parts...

I do, but it would be more useful to point you to this thread: http://neurohack.com/transcendence/foru ... php?t=1129

It explains how to extract the source xml for Transcendence which gives you access to all of the item, ship and station xml definitions used in the game. Search through the various XML files until you fined what you are looking for.

Even if you don't want to do a hornet battlepod (Try a Wind Slaver, you should only have to decrease the maneuverability slightly) this should help you do a lot of useful copy/paste modding.

Over the last week I have been fiddling with modding and my first experiment was a 'God' ship. Learning how to change values like Cargo capacity and Cyberdefense. Changing the image of your ship is one of the easier things to do. First I suggest downloading a mod of a any player ship as a starting point. you don't want to mess with the hardcoded ones. Open your ship file in a text editor and find the image tag.

This is the Battle pod image from "EncountersVol01" in the TranscendenceSource folder if you've already unpacked the files.

So, once you find the ship image from your mod ship simply c&p the image from the battlepod over yours and voila!
